The town changes character in late June. The spring crowds have thinned, the light is long into the evening, and the restaurants we like are still easy to book. It is, quietly, our favourite stretch of the year in Cannes.
We spent an afternoon out on Île Sainte-Marguerite, twenty minutes by the little ferry from the old port, and swam off the rocks on the far side away from everyone. Take water and something to eat, there is very little out there, which is rather the point.
